Andreas Braendle, lic.phil., is a Research and Teaching Associate in the Division on Media Change & Innovation at the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Research (IPMZ), University of Zurich. He holds an MA in communications/economics and politics. Prior to joining IPMZ in 2008, Andreas Braendle worked for several years in the internet, mobile, and media industry in positions such as PR manager, editor, project manager, and business developer. His latest assignment was in content acquisition for an IPTV company.

 

His research centers on technical, economic and political aspects of new media and social media with a focus on automated, ranking-algorithm-based systems such as search engines, news aggregators, recommender and reputation systems or computational advertising.
